Cabo de Gata Taking the road from San José to Almería, there is detour to 16 Km. that lead you to San Miguel de Cabo de Gata. Between the village and the lighthouse exits a road provided the setting by a gravel beach and Las Salinas. This last place is a high protection ecological reservation where the pink flamingo stands out among the other species. The lighthouse of Cabo de Gata is the most Southeast point of the Iberian Peninsula, and it provides a panoramic view of incredible beauty. At hand you can see the Sirens Reef and going the road, you arrive to Vela Blanca, an old watchtower. |
| It is recommendable to make this excursion in the evening in order to contemplate the impressive sunset, especially in autumn or in winter where the strength of the colour catches the visitors. |
